The Kothandaramaswamy Temple is dedicated to Lord Rama in his Kothandam, or bow-holding, form. It commemorates the moment Vibhishana — brother of Ravana — surrendered to Rama and was subsequently crowned king of Lanka, a turning point in the Ramayana.
A Resilient Shrine

Located along the road to Dhanushkodi, the temple is modest in scale but rich in narrative — one of the few structures in the area that has remained a continuously active place of worship.
